Mourey in August of 1861, the gilt bronze case is a stunning example of his work. Renowned French clockmaker LeRoy a Paris is signed on the porcelain dial. It features a bronze body with a gilt ormulu finish.
There are 4 pillars with gilded scrolls on four feet. There are beautifully detailed designs with floral & acanthus leaves, including cartouche panels on either side.
All four sides are ornamental which makes it a lovely decorative display clock. There is a porcelain dial face which is original to the clock, marked Leroy A Paris with roman numerals and gilded bronze hands. The eight day movement strikes on the half and full hour on a silvered bell.
Condition: Excellent antique condition, excellent working condition. Everything is original to the clock. There is a hairline crack in the porcelain dial.
Lovely antique patina to gilded finish. Dimensions: 14" tall, 8" wide, 5.5 deep.
